Environmental issues: current and future challenges

Ethics, Science and Society: challenges for BioPolitics is a project of academic research, scientific dissemination, and social and political responsibility.

It aims to deepen the impact of ethics of life sciences in public policies, at the national and international level, concerning the management of new powers derived from biotechnological progress. The main goals are to identify and characterize the core issues of biopolitics, and to promote consensus building, in order to draw legal recommendations (soft law).

This project will unfold in four main steps:

·  a first Symposium, held in Ponta Delgada, Açores (Portugal), on the 24th November, 2017
·  a second Symposium, held in Lisbon (Portugal), in 2018
·  elaboration of a Declaration on BioPolitics
·  publication of core material on BioPolitics
