On the 16th of April some ABG members got together to map invasive plant species in Terceira Island, having thus registered 29 new sightings corresponding to 10 different species.
These sightings were submitted to the "Invasive Plants in Portugal" site (http://invasoras.pt/en/) and are also available in the ATLANTIS database (http://www.atlantis.angra.uac.pt/).
The initiative " Invasive Plants in Portugal " is the responsibility of the Centre for Functional Ecology at the University of Coimbra and the Agrarian School of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra.
The Azorean Biodiversity Group will organize more invasive species mapping events in the near future. Join us!
