The Value of Our Natural Resources: Now and Future

The Azorean Biodiversity group joins to the forum called "The Value of Our Natural Resources: Now and Future" to be held in Praia da Vitoria 8 to 11 March 2012.

Some group members will be leaders of so-called "Identification Group ":

Identification Group of arthropods - Come and see this group of organisms where we find the insects, crabs, centipedes, and more ..., led by Prof. Paulo Borges, March 10th, from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm, meeting point: Paul da Praia

Identification group of Spiders, led by researcher Pedro Cardoso, March 10th, from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm, meeting point: Paul da Praia

Identification group of Bryophytes. Come and see mosses and related plants, led by Prof. Rosalina Gabriel, March 10 from 15:00 pm to 17:00 pm, meeting point: Cabo da Praia

What is an Identification group?

During three hours in the Saturday and Sunday the group will work together with researchers from the University of the Azores in the identification of living organisms around us. Each group is led by a specialist. The goal is identify the greatest number of possible species of a given group of animals or plants together. All interested are welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. Do not need any prior knowledge. You must pre-register! Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
