Ph.D. in Plant Ecology from the Azores University (2007). Senior researcher of the Island Biodiversity, Biogeography and Conservation Research Group (IBBC), and leader of the Island Plant Ecology (IPE) Group, of cE3c. Curator of the Azores University Herbarium and co-coordinator of the ATLANTIS 3.1 database (vascular plants). Collaborator Researcher of the Island Ecology and Evolution Research Group (IPNA-CSIC), Tenerife, Spain. Teacher of Biology I, Ecology and Ecosystem management, Wetland Ecology and Management and Forest Ecology at the Azores University. Research in community ecology, vegetation dynamics, and impact of invasive species and climate change on plant biodiversity and vegetation distribution.
