Meeting at Oxford of the Biodynamic Island Group (BIG)

The first workshop of the international research group, Biodynamic Island Group (BIG) was held in Oxford in October 2013.
Two group members of the Azorean Biodiversity Group (PAV Borges and F Rigal) are also members of the international Biodynamic Island Group (BIG) composed of 14 experts in island biogeography and based at the University of Oxford, UK.
In this first meeting the investigators planned the implementation of four projects to investigate the geological dynamics of oceanic islands and its impact on patterns and processes of species immigration, extinction and speciation.
