Azorean Biodiversity Group publish most of their work in first Quartile Journals

The 2013 Impact Factor and Quartile indices are already available for scientific journals.

Based on this new information we evaluated the Azorean Biodiversity Group publication performance in the last six years (2008-2013) and the results are very good.

In fact, for a total of 130 publications in the period 2008-2013 published by our integrated members, about 51% were published in the first Quartile Journals, and about 72% in the first and second Quartiles.

The research area with more publications was ECOLOGY, in which we published 51 papers (40% of our research). For this research area the results are even better: about 67% were published in the first Quartile Journals, and about 76% in the first and second Quartiles.

This makes our research visible to international audiences and will facilitate the creation of an international recognized "Island Lab" for the study of terrestrial insular ecosystems in Azores in the next years.
