Researcher, PhD in Biology/Ecology from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, with a Master’s degree in Agronomy/Entomology from the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Zootechnical Engineering from the Universidade Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). She completed postdoctoral research in Brazil and in the Azores (Portugal) in Entomology and Palynology, focusing on plant–insect interactions.
Her work primarily addresses island biodiversity, pollination, and sustainable beekeeping, with an emphasis on the phytogeographical certification of honeybee products. She is currently a researcher at the Azorean Biodiversity Group (GBA) at the University of the Azores, where she takes part in the project “BIOMONI – Biodiversity Monitoring of Island Ecosystems” and conducts studies on bryoflora in the Azores.
She is also involved in science outreach initiatives related to the microscopic art of pollen and the biodiversity of the Azores. Her work combines basic and applied science, promoting the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in island environments.
